Addisons Disease

Question
I have a 16 month old Jug who just got diagnosed with Addison's disease.  The vet said they have never seen it in a dog so young.  Does this mean it's just going to get worse as she gets older?  My wife and I have been trying to do a lot of research about this disease and it seems like a shot or pill a month and changing the diet should maintain this disease.

Is there anything in particular i should or should not be doing to help her with her daily living?  Just like others we are very much attached to our dog and want to do everything possible to make sure she is comfortable and happy and is not suffering.

Any advice or recommendations would be great,

Thank you,
Bill

Answer
Hi Bill,

Thank you for writing to me about your puppy.  I am very sorry that this young dog has been diagnosed with this disease.  I would like to recommend that you have a phone consultation with Dr. Kruesi.  You can find his website on Google.  I used him for my own dog's issues, working in conjunction with my own vet and Dr Kruesi worked miracles.  I do believe he can offer some options.

I wish you the best of luck,

Shelley Davis
