Question
What is the best antiinflammatory for my 7 yo male lab who suffers from joint/muscle pain...Ibuprofen or Bufferin?  He had the femoral head removed on his R side after being struck by a vehicle about 4 yrs ago.

Don't give him Ibuprofen or any other modern OTC pain killer unless prescribed by the vet.  They can destroy the dog's liver.  The Bufferin is fine, 5 mg per pound of body weight every 8 hours.  Likely a standard 325 mg tablet will be close enough.  Your vet may have even better medicine that you can count on being safe.
