chocolate labs?

Hello, i always wounder how do you breed a chocolate lab? do they just randomly end up coming out that couler? like for example, A black lab and a yellow lab breed. would there be a few chocolate pups? or if a black lab and another black lab breed will there be a chocolate one? i really plan on getting a chocolate lab. The parents either have to be chocolate or carry the chocolate gene in order to produce that color. If only one parent carries that color, then no chocolate puppies will be produced.
