Dog not loving new cat.

Question
I have an english bulldog who is about 2 1/2 years old.  He is crate trained and had adjusted well to our move about a year ago.  In our new house he has his own room with a bed and his toys.  He has not had a peeing problem since he was a little pup, until we brought the kitten home.  He now pees on everything the cat owns or touches.  If the cat sleeps in my daughters bed, he pees on it when she is not around.  I know he is acting out because he feels like he isn't getting attention, which is FAR from the truth. However, I don't know where to start with helping him realize our little friend is here to stay and he needs to adjust to that.  We have started taking him out more often, hoping this would help.  Yet, he still finds that one time during the day when no one is watching him to pee on her stuff. Any advice on helping him cope with this new animal in our house would be great!!
Thanks,
Kelly

Answer
Hi Kelly;
Peeing on things is his way of marking his territory.
Methinmks he is telling that cat. "You and everything you have belongs to me."  LOL
Take him to what he has peed on, point to it, chew hios little butt out and tell him if he is going to be bad, he has to go to time-out- First, let him watch you clean up his pee sopt, all the time chewing him out, then tell him he has to go to time-out, and put him in a small room, close the door, and let him stew for a half hour or so.
After about the third half hour time-out, if he is still doing it, stretch the time to 1 hour.
Simple Solution is good for scrubbing up to get rid of both the stain and the smell, so HE can't still smell it and go there again, because of the smell.
