she is 3 this month and mated on jan 8th, very healthy, lives in and out, we have 5 acres, she loves to chase squirrels. weighs 15 lbs, all muscle, not interested in dog food, gave her green beans & mashed potatoes finally to get her to eat, any ideas for a healthy pregnancy diet for our beatrice? thanks so much, jayne, naples, fl.

Jayne, many bitches become finicky eaters during pregnancy. The reason is because most dog foods are lacking in the nutrition that the dogs' bodies are craving and need. Then, if she >>still<< refuses to eat, try offering her some 'real' food - meat - mixed in with her dog food. It should be cooked, since you are mixing it with her kibble, but unseasoned.
