Standard Poodle jaw tremors

Question
Hi Angela,

I have three female Standard Poodle sisters, spayed when young, and nine
years of age; two white ones, about 40 pounds each, and one brown about
fifty pounds.

About two years ago, a white one began to show a tremorlike clicking when
closing her jaws after yawning, which seems to occur all the time, and is
especially noticable when she chews on corn-starch bones. We thought her
problem was the result of colliding with the brown one in a particularly bad
hit. The chiopractor concurred. The vet was uncertain and not helpful.

In the last few days, the brown one has developed the same tremors, or
clicks, about three or four every time she closes her mouth after yawning. It's
upsetting to her and us.

Would you be kind enough to remnder an opinion and maybe a direction we
should take?

Thank you very much,

Answer
I would definitely have the Vet check the tremors out and I would recommend getting your dog checked for liver and heart functions, anemia, glucose, calcium, and electrolyte levels to check for any underlying problems. You should have her checked for psychomotor or behavioral seizures, Also have her checked for an Anxiety problem.
