Dog breed?

QUESTION: Hi Nancy,

I am attaching an image of my dog Boog because I would like you to look at him and give me a guess as to which breeds are in him. I believe he is part pit bull and maybe some lab. I hav no information on his parents as I rescued him from the humane society a few years ago. If this is not your expertise, could you please give me direction as to how I could find out what kind of dog he is?

I believe she is more Staffordshire Terrier that pit. Some people believe they are the same but there is a subtle difference. I also see lab in her.  However, you could go to the following site and inquire about DNA testing. Read the different people who have had it done.  I personally know someone who had it done and was very pleased.  But there are some people who are not pleased with the results, although it seems these are about dogs that have multiple breeds in their backgrounds (Heinz 57).

No matter what he is, he is certainly a beautiful dog.
