Question
Hi Patt, Im a prospective dog  owner.  Im just beginning my research into what kind of dog I'd like to own. My best friend recently purchased a mini schnauzer and i fell in love with it.  Do you know of any sites i can go to find breeders in the NY area.

Also, my problem is Im allergic to most dogs or doghair.  Do you recommend any specific breeds that may help with this problem.   Is there anything i can do in terms of shots or anything like that to alleviate this problem.  I've been told that there are some dogs with almost human-like hair.  Thanks for any help!

Answer
Hi Mike
It is NOT the hair your allergic to it is the dogs dander.
I know for I thought I was allergic to horses and it was the dust from the hay, but I went on for some over 35 years training, showing, breeding and showing them.
Dogs if brushed daily fed the best dog kibble like:  Nutro Max, Cal. Natural, Flint River Ranch, Innova, Back to Basics, Solid Gold, then give a good supplement as from www.springtime.com and use Fresh Factors that promotes healthy itch free skin, less shedding for any breed of dog u might like and think u cannot deal with, if fed right, brushed like we do our hair and taken care of I bed u that u would experience absolutely no effects from the dog.

I gave u a site to visit for dogs.  I breed the Pure West German Shepherds, Medium sized dogs that do not shed year round, and my dogs are gorgeous go to my site at www.vomschreknhaus.com and just for u to view u can buy anywhere but do not buy an American bred because of health issues, poor quality, etc.
here are N.Y breeders of many breeds to check out:

Another site in N.Y of Breeder of the shitz Tzu but then u will have a Groomer expense with some of the small breeds that runs into extra expense needlessly with some other smaller breeder, even the Schnauzer require Grooming and trims to  look right.  Think hard what is less for bess for the money and in the long run not to have to run to the Groomers every month with some $50 or more in trimming, bathing, etc.
The Shepherd is maintanence free, no baths, no grooming just a daily hand brush.  Also the Airdale is nice but also requires Grooming and Trimming, so u must decide what u like best and make sure u find a good reputable Breeder with a good Warranty to protect u if the pup gets ill or something to get a refund or replacement, there are tons of bad U.S. breeders out there.  Ask for references also and check on them.
Do not rush into buying before shopping around and checking and checking, research the breed u narrow it down to and make certain your going to be happy with the dog, for some of the small ons are highly stupid, sorry but I am blunt and to the point, hard to train, stay away from the Jack Russels they are a true pain.  Too much exercise is required or they will chew your place apart.

Kind Regards
Patt
