my yorkie is house trianbut some times he pee pee on the bathroom floor why l alway put new pads for him?

Answer
Hi Nydia,

Thanks for sending me a question about your Yorkie.  If your Yorkie is otherwise housetrained but only pees on the bathrooom floor when you leave, I'm wondering perhaps if the peeing is a symptom of separation distress in your Yorkie?  When you leave, does your Yorkie also scratch at the bathroom door (or gate, if you have one up); whine; cry; bark for long periods of time?  Does the urination on the floor happen within the first 45 minutes after you leave?  If so, this may indicate a separataion issue (your dog becomes afraid or anxious when you leave him/her alone).

My other guess, since I don't have a lot of information here, is that if your dog is otherwise housetrained (and I'm assuming that means that your dog consistently does his/her business outside), then maybe your dog hasn't learned that she/he is 'supposed to' go on the wee pads that you put down in the bathroom?  Even if your dog has learned to eliminate on wee pads elsewhere in your home, your dog may not have generalized this learning to the bathroom area and it may need to be specifically trained for the bathroom area.

However, if it's separation distress that's causing the issue, then you'll need to address that issue before you can expect that your Yorkie will be calm enough to eliminate on the wee pads in your bathroom.  To assess this, and to correct the issue, you'll probably need the help of a professional and can find one at APDT.com in your area/region.
