Question
My 3yr old male pitbull has a frisbee obsession. He holds it between his paws for hours licking it, and every time we let him outside he pounces on it which is causing him to break his nails in the decks cracks. Even when I threw the frisbee and It got stuck in a tree for two days until a storm blew in he stood under the tree barking at it. While he is inside he licks his nails to the point of licking the fur off of them. So I know that they are tender. How do I strengthen his nails and train him to stop obsession over his frisbee and  licking his feet to the point where they are red and have no fur.

Answer
the first issue of the nails if your dogs nails are braking then they are to long and need to be trimmed properly, for a better understanding of how to do this talk to your Vet, or groomer about the correct length for a dogs nails and proper nail care.
The fisbee obsesion is another deal. and you can look at it as a healthy obsession or a unhealthy one. if you consider it unhealth then I think the first thing you should do is remove all the frisbees, from the dog. this does not mean that you will never have a frisbee, but that you control when a frisbee is around and that means that the dog will look to you for entertainment with the frisbee. the barking at the frisbee in the tree was a signal that the dog wanted the frisbee but was frustrated that it could not get to it. So the frustration had to go somewhere.
