My wife and I just rescued a 3-4 month old Shar-Pei, possibly mixed with a Boxer. He is solid white. We also have 2 year old daughter. We were just wondering what type of food and how much we should be feeding him, and what kind of schedule you would recommend. He is about 7-8 pounds or so. Also, is there anything you might be able to tell us about life span and temperament of this animal.

Lifespan is a hard thing to predict, since your pup is a hybrid he should have a nice long healthy life. Particularly if you do your part. I would say ten years plus but that's just a guess.
Feed a good premium dog food, no corn.,wheat,soy or byproducts.
Feed twice per day right now as much as he will eat in forty five minutes or so. Early morning, and then again around five pm. No water after five pm. He will be alpha so should be treated as such.
Go to alpha dog boot camp on the web to learn how to handle a strong breed of dog. Get baby involved in puppy socialization and basic obedience as soon as possible. Remember , do not allow behavior now that you would not like at eighty pounds.
Use lots of praise and positive reinforcement in training. Socialization is key with these dogs
