QuestionAre rottweiler dogs born without tails?
AnswerHi Brandon,
Rottweilers usually have their tails "docked", or partially removed when they are between 24 hours old and three days old.
You can read about why it's done here:
http://www.amrottclub.org/dock.htm
That doesn't mean you have to dock a Rottweiler's tail though. In several European countries it is illegal for any dog's tail to be docked. It's done pretty much because of fashion and tradition, here in the USA.
A Rottweiler with a tail is still a beautiful animal, there's just a little more of it to love! It would not be "show quality" though.
I hope I've answered your question.
Regards,
Patti
