Feeding pizza to my dog.

Question
My dog likes pizza. He seems to enjoy the cheese in particular. He also likes yogurt, ice cream, cottage cheese, and even a little milk. Is any of these foods bad for him? We feed him things from the table as well as his own dog food(never scraps). I walk my little Cairn Terrier 2 to 2 1/2 miles a day(about 45 min. to 1 hr.) He has a lot of energy. Thank you, Roger Wood

Answer
I don't know if spicy things like Pizza in large quantities will affect your pup, but I do know that terriers need a much higher fat content than other breeds.  They need chicken or beef each day.  When you say table food I am assuming you mean food that is cooked for you like chicken or beef or cheese.   Good for you.   Don't give spicy things, but make sure when you shop you include him in the quantity of meat.  i have taught many vets about this and they have thanked me.  So have the cairn owners and Westie owners when their dogs don't have "allergies" anymore just by changing the diet to high fat.

Ps. I've been breeding terriers for 40 years and NEVER had a skin problem
