strange behavior.

Question
I have two dogs.  One female and one male.  Both are fixed.  We have had the female from puppyhood, but adopted the male three years ago.  Recently the female has become obsessed with licking the males penis.  I don't think the male likes this because he tries to get away, but the female is doing it more and more.  Is this a strange sign of dominance, or is it something else?  My boyfriend and I would both like to stop this behavior if possible.  Any suggestions?

It could be that your male has an infection or something going on and your female has picked up on it. When I brought in a male dog to foster for a local rescue group one time, my female seemed obsessed about licking his butt. Come to find out, he needed his anal glands expressed. After that, she left his butt alone. I would make an appointment with the vet to have him checked out just to be sure nothing is going on down there.
