Question
QUESTION: I have a 3mo. old Boston terrier, i noticed a little bump on his head a few days ago, no concern. Today after his walk i found about 12 more little red bumps on his belly, neck and back. he has 3 out of 4, of his shots. And its been at least a month since his last one. We will visit his vet some time this week. But I'm wondering if this is normal and if i should be concerned?

ANSWER: Hello Josue,

Not to alarm you, but did you check for fleas?  Fleas are in the yards and just about everywhere that animals are, so it is possable that your little guy may have picked some up.  It is possable that he was bitten by another type of pest.  I am glad that you are concerned and checking with your vet, that's always the best thing to do.

Keep me posted as to what you find out.

QUESTION: hi sussan, my little guy has fine hair, pink-ish skin and alot of white in his coat, making it easy to spot fleas or ticks. So we can rule that possibility highly unlikely. However, the only thing out of the usual can be that he has been bathe 2 times this week. He might be allergic to his bet shampoo. I'm going to wait a day or so and observe his progress. Thanks for the advice, I'll let you know the out come shortly.

Answer
A good shampoo to use is one with oatmeal and or tea tree.  If you get one of those, that helps to soothe the skin and also helps with any shedding.  I always leave an oatmeal/tea tree shampoo on for 3-5 minutes and rinse really well.  After you have rinsed, use your hands and feel for any shampoo that may not have been completely rinsed away.  There's a company called NuVet Labs that sells a wonderful Tea Tree Oil Shampoo for about $9.95... the website is www.nuvet.com/42299 They also have a wonderful supplement called NuVET Plus. This supplement is guaranteed to help with all kinds of problems or your money back!!
Hope this helps.
