Question
I have a toy rat terrier that was attacked by a pitbull last Wed 2/9/11. I have taken my dog to the vet daily since the attack, they placed a drainage tube in his neck however the skin smells like decaying flesh (he smells like death) the vet is removing the dead skin and tissue again today. This pet is like one of my children and I'm afraid that he is dying, is this smell normal when a dog has been attacked? My vet assures me he has seen worse and the wounds are superficial and he has no internal injuries he also has been on meds the whole time. Any advice you could give me would be great.

Answer
Hi Paula,  Sounds like your Vet is doing a good job.  Poor little Rat Terrier!
If you would like to offer your dog some supplements, it sure can't hurt.
Gald you are getting such good care from the Vet office.

Add the following to your Vet's Treatment:  Let your Vet know that you are giving supplements.
All of the supplements can be giving along with the medications from the Vet.

NuVet Supplement- Powder - NuVET Plus
Make sure you give this daily / Long term /  It's a great vitamin/ supplement - also, helps to heal the skin.
NuVET helps to build up the immune system, too
