Question
My dog, Max, is 14 years old.  He is in great health and is a very loving dog to my grandchildren.  But he has suddenly started this strange habit with his food.  I am feeding him the same food he has eaten for quite a while and I put it and water in metal bowls.  He now seems afraid of the food and/or bowl.  Sometimes he will act like he is sneaking up on it but will not eat.  Regarding his water, I have to put out fresh water several times a day.  I have made sure the bowls are clean and nothing is in the food.  Why is he doing this and what can I do about it?

Answer
Hi Linda, Wow, I have no idea what would be going on with your little Max.  I would have him checked over at the Vet office.
Have them check his Thyroid and do a good complete blood panel on Max.
He could be starting with some Canine Dementia -

You can also try a new feeding station.  I like the raised ones. The pet stores sell the raised feeding stations. You can also order them online-

We have had great luck with this food: LIFE'S Abundance:
