Toilet Training my Lab

Question
Hello.
I have a 7 month old re-homed male labrador. He used to stay in tied up in an apartment, after I adopted him, he now lives in the outdoors area of my house.  His previous owner used to walk him once in the morning, and once in the evening, both times after meals, to do his poo and pee.  He did do his business IN the house during the afternoons when she was not at home.  So that makes it 3 poo times a day.  We have also been practicing the same with him since he moved here - once in the morning and once in the evening and another time before bed time.

But he is poo-ing and pee-ing everywhere in the garden and hardly ever does it when we bring him out.  On top of that, he is also influencing my trained 4yr cocker spaniel to do the same!

How can I stop this destructive behaviour before my garden is destroyed by animal faeces!  Please help!

Answer
Hi Abby,  You can buy a product at a local Home Depot, Orchard or Lowes in their garden department called Repel.  It is a granule form dog/cat repellent that keeps them out of gardens and other areas that you do not want them to go in.  It works really great for cats too.  Take him where you want him to go on-leash too so you can start training him to go where you want him to go.  Hope this helps and good luck.
