Question
hello, my 9 month old female pitbull is always nipping on my 2 yr old male pitbull and she is very aggresive i can tell it's not playful at times what can i do to stop her from nipping on his legs or biting him all the time she always starts to bother him when he's resting i know there's an age difference. i dont want to hit her all the time but it's frustrating alot!!! please help!i dont want her to think i'm favoring him alot over her but i cant help it i'm trying to separate them but she keeps on. what do i do to stop this? they've gone at it sometimes cause he's tired of her and now he shows teeth and growls towards her.

Answer
Clarissa, you should not be hitting her at all. My recommendation, since they have already 'gone at it' several times, is to keep them separated at all times. Pitbulls are instinctively dog aggressive, to varying degrees, and I would hate for your dogs to become the subject of yet another bad press article if your male decides he's had enough and ends up killing or seriously injuring the female.

I would highly recommend enrolling her in an obedience class to gain some respect and control over her, and IF you choose to allow the two dogs to interact, it should be under strict supervision and ANY sign of aggression from either dog should be immediately corrected. I would recommend seeking advice from a local trainer that has experience dealing with dog-to-dog aggression on this.
