dog eating chocolate

Question
I have a 9 year old silver toy poodle who loves chocolate(like most dogs do)Four years ago, at X-mass she ate 5 Hershey chocolate bars(full sized) and didn't throw up or act sick or anything. Since then, we have been giving her a chocolate here and there and it doesnt seem to be effecting her at all, she is healthy(although she has a collapsed trakea(dont know how to spell that)I know that chocolate is supposed to be bad for dogs. I was wondering if this will hurt her and if we should stop feeding it to her.
thanx

Answer
HI Fae,

I have always thought chocolate was poisonous to dogs, but your dog obviously isn't affected. However, it's not good for her, and I would be very limited in the amount I give her.  We all give our dogs treats from time to time,  I just wouldn't overdo it.
