Shiloh - 4 yr old Beagle

Question
A few weeks ago Shiloh began to pee in his crate overnight.  We only cage him (and his brother Rudy - a 4 yr old Jack Russell) at night and the time ranges from 6 to 8 hours.  I have now idea why he's started this and I don't know what to do.  Please pass along any advice or thoughts you may have.  Thank you in advance!

Answer
Hi Marianna;
I would have him checked by his Vet.
Could be he has a bladder or kidney infection starting up.
If there is nothing wrong medically, then I really don't know what to tell you.
As you have probably read in my answers, I just don't like crates at all, so I have no experience training a dog to stay in one, happily.
I just train them to do what I want them to and it has worked for me for 69 years, so I will stick with it.
Mine have a doggy door and can go and come as they please, except when we are away from the house.
I don't want then in the back yard where some freak can steal them.
I am an over-protective mother.LOl
Try the trainer that does obedience classes at Petco or PetSmart stores, or Man's Best Friend.
Ask your Veterinarian. He/she may have their own pets in a crate and know how to deal with this.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
