Question
Hi,
I purchased a 9 week old Chihuahua puppy last Saturday night. I took daisy to my vet (out of town for the weekend) and was given a clean bill of health and was told she weighed 13 oz. But I have been trying to get her to eat. I've tried, science diet, pro plan, and little ceasers all puppy, I've added water to her dry food supplied by the breeder. I've tried boiled ground chuck broth and now I'm using a feeding tube and giving her water. Please help....I'm afraid I'm losing her. I've spoken to the breeder and he can't think of anything I've not already tried. I've had chihuahua puppies for over 20 years and I've never had a problem like this before.
Sincerely,
Brenda

Answer
Go NOW and get some nutrical, start her on it immediately. Give it to her once an hour for a couple of hours to see if you can get her up and going, just put it on the roof of her mouth if she won't eat it. Get some baby food, chicken only, the beginner tiny jar, get some jack mackeral or other canned fish. If necessary mix those with water and force feed her. I cannot believe a breeder allowed such a tiny puppy to leave home. Also try giving her unsalted chicken broth. Great protein and it might get her going. The vet needs to give her a vitamin b shot asap
