puppy drinks too much water

Question
I have a 15 week old mini pug and I just got him a week ago but I'm worried about his water intake. I put water out for him, but have to take it up b/c he'll drink the whole bowl at once and throw it up. When he goes outside he even licks it off of the leaves or finds a puddle and drinks it dry. He'll potty outside usually once or twice but within 15 min. in the house he does it again! I'm trying to housetrain but he's making it impossible with his water obsession. Gage is a very healthy puppy otherwise, I just wonder if this is normal and if there's something I can do to make him stop. I want him to be able to stay out during the day and not have to go in the kennel, but I can't control his pottying in the house. Oh, and I usually take him out 3 times during the night to potty, but he still does it in his kennel.

Answer
Sometimes you have limit how much water a puppy drinks.  Try letting him have a half cup every 2 hours.  See if that reduces his accidents.  You may be able to cut back even more if you have to.  Keep pinching his skin.  If it stays pinched up, he is getting dehydrated.  Increase his water.
