nipples turning HOT pink

my dog just gave birth 2 days ago, her nipples are turning HOT pink she's given birth before and it was never HOT pink, is that normal or are her nipples infected?

Yes, it's possible your dog has an infection.

"Mastitis" is an infection of the milk ducts. An engorged breast is a mild form of mastitis. Call your vet as soon as possible, as in advanced stages you will need an antibiotic. Ask your vet about allowing the puppies to nurse. You may need to either bottle feed them, or tube feed them.
