Question
My dog is approx. 6 mos. old.  She is an
Aussie Shepherd/Blue Heeler mix that I adopted three weeks ago from the Humane Society. She came with a very bad case of Kennel Cough which we have been treating with steroids and antibiotics from our vet.  She is now off the medicine and doing well.  My question is.......why does she urintate when approached by me? She urintates when I discipline her (voice command/scolding - I have not hit her) or put the leash on her. I have read that this is a phobia - maybe from her previous owner (?) but how do I get her past this phobia?

Answer
Well, one thing you can do is when you approach her, give her a small treat, and pet her,so that she knows that your hand isn't going to hurt her

Another thing you can do is look up dog trainers-often obedience classes will give the dog more confidnece
