I don't think dogs get heat rash, but they can get a number of skin infections or reactions due to fleas or other allergies. Your dog needs to be seen by a veterinarian for a proper diagnosis. If he should have a staph infection, he will need to be on antibiotics. Staph infections are highly contagious.
