longest dog in its breed

My daughter and son in law has a dashound that is so long. He is 34%26 1/2 inches long from nose to tip of his tail. Could you tell me if that is the longest dog in that breed? I haven't even see one that long.

This is a very interesting question.. If I am correct, I believe the longest dachshund is a dog named Jackie, who measured to be 27 inches from tip of nose to tip of tail.....so you are very, very close :)
