possible aggression

Question
We have a 5 month old lab.  When she comes in our house she will pick up our children's toys.  I realize she wants to chew, however, we have supplied her with her own chew toys.  When my husband tells her to drop it she usually will.  When I tell her to drop it she will lower her head, shake the toy, growl and the hair on her back stands up.  What is she trying to tell me?

This is a sign of disrespect. You need to get professional in home training done for you and the dog as well as fthe kids. Kids can learn what to do at a very young age. It sounds also like your dog is outside without someone with her. That will make this worse. Please look for a local trainer. I wish i could help more here.
