Question
My 18 week old german shepard puppy seems to have bladder control issues. He dribbles urine when he gets excited or scolded and sometimes when he's just walking around investigating. Is there a medical cause for this or just something he will outgrow or am I just stuck with a dog that needs depends.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Answer
it is very common for puppies to urinate when excited, scared etc. they do not have full bladder control until about 5-6 months of age. It is very important not to scold the puppy for urinating as he cannot help it.

There are medical conditions which can also cause this such as a uti or a genetic disorder resulting in the bladder being bypassed. If in doubt have the vet examine the puppy
