Answer
Hi Daily;
That is an unnatural fear reaction that could probably be helped a lot or cured ,by massage.
I have used the Tellington-Touch method of animal massage to cure fears, aggression, excessive barking, and pain relief in animals.
It really works.
You can read about this method of massage, and what you can do with it at this website, and order a video to teach you to give the massages the proper way so they will get the results you want.

It took one 5 minute massage on the face and ears, to cure my English Setter of fear of thunderstorms for the rest of her life.
She was going into shock from fear. I massages her the way you massage to calm,( the one you would use on your dog,) and she was barely a year old.
She lived to be 2 weeks shy of her 14th birthday, but she was never afraid of them again, after that one massage.
Some massages and some dogs take more than one, but that is the best training tool I have ever found. Massages before a training class make a big difference in the amount of progress the dogs make in each session.
It is unequaled as a method to calm and ease fears, and when they are older and have pain and stiffness from arthritis etc, a massage can get them on their feet and walking mush better with fewer medications, and heklps them live longer, and easier.
