New pups

Hi,
  My moms Bichon Frise just had 4 pups yesterday,and this morning she took one of the pups and pushed it out of the whelping box and then brought it back in the box,and pushed it away,shes leting him nurse. Is this a reason to be alarmed? Could there be something wrong w/ the puppy? Is this a normal reaction? Should we keep a close eye on this? Also is it true that the last puppy born is concidered the Runt?  THank you!

Hi, No this is not abnormal.  If she doesn't take him back in the box, then you might have to supplement feed him.  Just make sure that he is nursing.  No, the last pup born is not necessarily the runt.  Hope this helps, and good luck with your new litter.
