-----Question-----
I have been trying to train my 6 month old chihuhua female since mid Jan. But she always goes to the bathroom by the back door, and then jumps all in it... I do not know how to get her to stop doing this. I have to give her 1-2 baths daily because of this plus totally clean my back porch like 3-4 times a day. Please help us

Obviously your puppy is trying to get outside to go, but you are not letting her outside in time. Either put in a dog door and teach her how to use it, or let her outside a bit more frequently.

Watch her more closely, and everytime she heads for that area, run like crazy and praise the heck out of her. You might want to make a chart and keep track of when she eliminates. Most dogs tend to poop at certain times during the day. If she seems to be going excessively, you might want to consider that you are either overfeeding or that the food has too much fiber or is not digestible enough.

I'm sorry I misunderstood you.

I think the only way to solve this is to go outside with her and to encourage her to potty in one particular spot in the yard. Give her lots of praise and a small treat when she eliminates there. It may take some time to get her used to eliminating away from the house as it sounds as though she doesn't much care for being outside.

If it is chilly where you live, you might consider putting a coat on her if you aren't already. If you get snow, you will have to shovel what I call a "dog biffy", a small area where she can go to potty. If neither one apply, I am jealous<G>; it is freezing cold here now!
