Concerned for Maxi

24 hours ago my dog started acting unusual.  She keeps lying down and if she does get up she will only walk with her head hanging and lay at our feet.  She will not drink or go to the bathroom.  SHe did eat her dinner though yesterday.  I'm not sure but I think I feel a bit of swelling on her back left side.  She winced once but doesn't seem to be in any real pain.  He tail is constantly tucked way under.  Normally it wags constantly and she's a very happy dog.  SHe's a black lab/retriever mix, 8 years old.  She just had her yearly check up about 2 weeks ago.  Any idea what could be wrong?

Hey Debi. Sounds like Maxi could have either something that's making her abdomen or her back/neck hurt. Sometimes with back/neck injuries, they are reluctant to lift their head or wag their tail b/c it hurts. Or she might be having pain in her abdomen. This is a tough one to be able to give an idea of a diagnosis without me looking at her. I would recommend taking Maxi to the vet soon for an exam. Please follow-up & let me know what they say.
