dog dog agression

Question
I have 4 dogs, one of which is a pit bull mix (suzy) that was a stray.  Except for a few dominance issues she had with one other dog (my mastiff), she has been the sweetest dog.  A year ago, my daughter moved home with her miniature dachsund (sasha).  The majority of the time suzy and sasha get along great but every once in a while suzy will attack sasha.  Until this last time there was never any harm done but this time sasha had to have stitches where a little of her skin was gone.  This never happens when the dogs are alone, only when we are home or at least we have seen no evidence of it. I have no idea why this happens and I love all of the dogs but am at a loss as to what to do.  Suzy and Sasha are the only females here and until recently were both not spayed.  In general the attacks occur when suzy is in heat so I had her spayed a couple of weeks ago.  The last attack occurred a week or so after.  I have never seen what triggers the attacks and need help.

thanks
Sharon

Answer
Hi Sharon;
I am hoping the other experts can offer some help on his too.
It could be a jealousy issue over some of the humans paying attention to sasha, and Suzy doesn't like it, or it is possible the spaying wil help. You need to have Sasha spayed too, for her health if nothing else.
Spayed and neutered animals do not get the breast cancer in females and Prostate cancer in males, and some other diseases.
In adition to helping with temperment, spaying and neutering helps them live a longer life.
I have uses the Tellington-Touch method os animal massage for about 15 years or more, and have had great results with it.
I have had amazng results in curbing aggression with the massages.
Go to this website and read what can be done with the massages, and you can order a video there to learn hoe to do the different massages properly to get the good results.

Training is the answer, and the tapes will help tremendously if there is an insecurity issue.
Sometimes when dogs are aggressive, it is really that they have insecurities and fears.
