Question
hi nancy, my 15 month scwt is itching and biting her skin alot, i have had her to the vet who says she has an allergy. they wouldnt talk much about her coat though, she has lost some hair because of the scratching, is the hair likely to come back and what would you reccommend i bath her with and how often. also she seems to be getting plaque, i think discoloured teeth and i brush them 3 times a week, is there anything i can do? many thanks paula fletcher

Answer
paula,
she is a terrier,  she needs a high fat diet and absolutely NO fleas.  Use advantage on her and only give her a bath once every 3 weeks before you put the advantage on her.  Advantage can go on when she is dry after a bath...  you can use it every 3 weeks if  you need to do so
Give her a tiny bit of ground beef, raw, or boiled in a half cup of water  with her food.   Try feeding her Bill Jack, if you can afford it, otherwise, just add the ground beef to whatever you are feeding.  Once a terrier uses the fat in their diet for energy, the fat will then come out of their skin, which makes them itchy.   You should see an improvement within a week or two.
Work that tiny bit of ground beef up to a quarter of a cup within the month.

Let me know how she makes out
