QuestionWe have a 3 year old golden and have had her for a year. A few months after getting her, she started eating off the table in front of me and while I was out of the room. I have children, and I keep food on the table throughout the day. I cannot crate her all day or leave her outside. I am not sure what to do and how to break her of this awful habit. I took her to the vet and she is almost 80 lbs..so she is fed what she should be according to vet and package directions. We never give her table scraps..just dog food. We know the previous owner and they never had this problem with her. Please help!!
AnswerThere's one of two methods you can try-it's to you what one you prefer
The first to intentionally leave food on the counter, and put cyan pepper on it or something else that is very spicy, after a few times of this they get the idea of everything on the counter doesn't taste very good
Another thing you can try by also leave food on the counter, but by her having a chock chain and a leash attached to her,and when she goes for it,'pop' the leash back and say 'leave it'
It is up to you what method you chose to use
