Question
hi my puppie seems to be ok she is having clear jelly poos she is just over six weeks old and just had her first jab and had her 3rd worming tablet this is the first time i have experienced this. is this due to worm eggs coming out of her there is no colour and no smell could you give me some advice as my vets is closed over the weekend

Answer
Hi Samantha,

Thank you for writing to me about your puppy.

By "clear jelly poo" might you be referring to mucus?  Stools should be solid.  When they are of this consistancy, it means that all that is supposed to have been absorbed by the body has been and what's left is just waste matter.

It may be the weekend, but since your dog has just had shots and worming (very aggressive treatment for a wee pup, all at once and not something I recommend) your vet should be available for a phone call.  Explain your concern and ask for his recommendation.

Best,
Shelley Davis
