puppy waking up too early

Question
We have a 9 week old apoo and we would like him to wake up after 6 am if possible.  We make sure he stays up as late as mid night hoping he would get up later in the morning but it did not work.

We currently use a crate to train him.

I don't have an answer to this one.  Bring the subject up around experienced people, and most of them laugh.  Dogs are notorious early risers.  When we travel, we never leave a wake up call.  We will even stop short of our destination the night before planning an early start and an hour or 2 on the road in the morning after an early start.
