my black lab 16 years old,has many accidents inside the house lately, he does not remember where to go to bathroom. my friend told me, he will die soon.Is it true.

He is old for a Lab.  He may or may not die soon.  How is his quality of life?  Do you think he can move without pain?  Do you think he can even lay in his bed without hurting?  Does he seem to look at you with questions in his eyes?   

If he still seems to be enjoying life, you might have a vet check him.  An easily curable UTI could be causing the accidents.  If it is nothing the vet can fix, you could reduce the accidents in the house by taking him out first.  Try to learn his schedule.  Often a dog needs to go out after a nap.  When he gets up from a nap, take him out and walk around a little bit.  If he goes ahead and eliminates, you should be able to take him back in and not have any accidents for a while.  

If he seems to be in pain a lot, and never seems to enjoy being petted or walked, or anything, maybe the kindest thing would be to have him put to sleep.
