Question
Hello, I belive it is warm, it seems shes developed a smaller one on the teat across from this one, from the sounds of it I think there tumars, it will be two weeks until I can take her not three/four(I miscouculated), I will have to cancle her spay as I can't aford blood tests, boiopsiys & x-rays along with a three hundred dollar spay surgery, I think I will have a biopsiy done if this is possible without first removing it to find out what type of tumar it is, would a blood test tell us what type of tumar it is? I'll have to ask my vet about payment options and hope that its possible to pay so much every month for a few months as there is no other way, there are several vets near me thou so I will ask around, any thing you'd like to add would be great help, thanks.

Hello, I know you are not a vet but I have a question that I hoped you could help me with as I can only take her to a vet in several weeks....

My 1 yeay 3 month old female lab is not yet spayed and shares her home with a 4 month old male jack russle terrier who is not yet neutered, they get along well always chewing on each other, chasing each other and the like, recinitly I found that my lab has a lump under one of her teats on on last row towards her bottom, its about three inches lnog adn a inch wide, its sort of hard and when I went to dubble check whiel she was lieing on her side the other night she sprune up when I touched it... not sure if it hurt or it I just spooked her, could this possibly be something causd by the russle chewing on her? what would it be?  I am taking her to a vet to be spayed within three/four weeks I will have htem look at this then but until then I'd like to know what it is, there doesnt seem to be a bite mark or anything near the area thou there apperas to bea small pimple like thing just below her teat that its under, any ideas of waht it could be or web links would be great, thanks.

Hi, it is so hard to say what it is without actually seeing it, but from the description, it could be an abcess of some sort.  Is it warm to the touch?  Also, can you squeeze it or is it hard?  Let me know and maybe I can figure it out.  You definitely would want a vet to check it anyway, but depending on what it could be would make the decision of whether you wanted to wait 3-4 weeks or not.

Hi, it sounds like your dog is either going through a false pregnancy, where their body really believes its pregnant and starts going through the symptoms (some dogs even go through false labor) or she might have Mastitis, which is an ifection in the mammary glands.  Either way, she definitely needs to see a vet because if it is an infection it will get worse, and if it is a false pregnancy, she can get more complications that can be life threatening.  The sooner you can get her in the better.  Wish I could be of more help.  Good Luck.
