sick older chihuahua mix

My dog has been sleeping a lot and won't eat.  He feels hot and is sluggish.  He is eight years old.  He is normally quite active. I got him from the shelter two months ago. I took him to the vet yesterday and they said he was normal.  I gave him a bath, maybe he caught a cold?

Hi Vicki,

Giving your dog a bath wouldn't give him a cold.  Does he eat?  A sure sign of a sick dog is one that won't eat.  If it continues,  take him to a different vet.  Acting sluggish and running a temp is not normal if he is otherwise active. Give him a day or so, and if he continues to act like this..I would take him in for another opinion,  especially if he isn't eating.  Good luck!
