Question -
How will I know when she is ready to pass. She is on a full dose of Lysodren for the second time. Can not get her to a maintenance dose. What are the signs of passing?

Hi Sandi,
I am so very sorry for your little dog.  This is really something you need to discuss with your veterinarian.  Since I do not know the specifics, I cannot answer this question.
God Bless you and Merry Christmas!

This is our first dog and we just don't know what to look for. Our vet is very dear to us and he knows how much we love our dog and doesn't want to talk with us about it. He just says we'll know when its time......HOW will we know? Please help us.
Becky

Answer
Sandi,

When your little dog can no longer eat, drink, or get up and go "potty".. then it's time.   When she no longer responds and/or is obviously in pain, then it's time.  When she is weak and seems "out of it" , it's time.

You have to realize the difference between letting a dog live because you don't want to let her go..... and letting her go because it is the most kind and humane thing you can do for her.

I have been through this, so I know that it is a very hard decision.  Comfort yourself by knowing that you have given her a wonderful life !

God Bless,
Becky
