QuestionI have a four year old Shih Tzu. He is always very playful and always has a lot of energy. However, he has stopped eating lately, and his usually pale pink stomach is now red, especially under his armpits, for lack of a better word. When he goes to the bathroom, it is a form of diarrhea, and the majority of it is blood. He is very agitated, and he can't seem to get comfortable. What could it be, and what can I do about it?
AnswerThanks for you question. I have owned a few shih tzus in my time and the most recent had simular problems. It was failed liver. Not to worry you but i would immediatly take you dog to the vet. Another possiblity could be worms. That would cause the bloody poo. Look for worms in the poo and that should determine that. I have also heard that if you find worms in the poo to feed your dog chew. I dont know how true this is but i wouldnt try it until you take him to the vet. Sorry i couldnt help more but get him/her to the vet right away.
