That depends how old the dog is, a puppy in its first year gets three to four parvo/distemper boosters and one rabies vacicnes other vaccines are optional. An adult dog that has been kept upto date with its shots needs one parvo/distemper vaccine per year and a rabies vaccine every 1-3 years depending on what type is used as with puppies other vaccines are optinal. With an adult dog that was not vaccinated as a puppy you give two boosters both parvo/distemper and a rabie if one was not yet given...again other vaccines are optional.
