Question
Do you know if it is better to feed an older dog soft or hard food? Do you know if there are any specific brands that are better for older dogs, I know that they have specific products for older dogs but which brand is best I don't know. Do you have any other tips in the area of older dogs and health?

I feed all of my dogs dry dog food.  It's good for their teeth.  The only way I would feed the canned food, is if they had no teeth or had very bad teeth and couldn't afford to have them taken care of by a vet.   
I like Purina ONE and it has a variety for older dogs too. Just check the labels.  If meat is the first ingredient, then that is what the dog food is mostly made of.  If corn or something else is first,then you know it is full of fillers and not as good.  You are going to pay more for a better food, but in the long run, it is worth it.
