My dogs jump on everyone.

Question
I have two dogs, both from local animal shelters they are 6 yr old husky mix and 4 yr old lab mix.  We rescued them when they were puppies.  They are both smaller than the normal breed size weighing around 50 lbs each, but are still big enough to hurt someone.  They are very active dogs and get overly excited when people come over.  As soon as someone walks into the house they jump up on them and I am afraid that they will knock someone over.  How do I fix this problem?  I have tried treats and making them wait until they are settled to open the door, but that only worked for myself and my husband, not other people.  I have tried keeping them in the kitchen until the person comes inside, but they still get so excited when people come near them.  I feel like I have tried everything, but only got them not to jump on me and my husband.
