giving away my dog

iam going to be giving away my german shepherd  and i waondering  what are some things that i can do to help him make the adjustment ? he is a 1 yearold should i send stuff with him that smells like home and like me or would that be worse? tnanks sue

Hi sue. Why are you giving away one of the best tempered, easily trained dogs there is? Anyway.no it is going to be hard on him no matter what. What you want to make sure is that the new people are going to let him be an inside dog as he should not be mostly outside, and that they are willing to train him. He needs to feel important in whatever family he is in....good luck
