Question
hi,i have a silky terrier,(its 2 and a half months old), and ever since the day i had it,it had always kept making noises like he's trying to clear his airways.i've had him about a week or so,but it doesnt happen often.since last night,it was different though.he wheezes a few times in an hour.and it sounds like he's having difficulty clearing his airways.i'm worried, should i bring him to the vet?

Answer
Absolutely you should. While this may not be anything of real concern, the fact that something has changed should be investigated.

One should *always* have a vet check done anyway immediately after bringing a new dog into the house, both for one's own protection and for that of the breeder. If there is something wrong with the dog/puppy, then it can be returned to the breeder for money back or a replacement. After several days in a new home, a dog that becomes sick may no longer be the responsibility of the breeder since it could have picked up a "bug" *after* it was sold.

Be sure to take in a stool specimen also.
