Ike, the found cocker

Question
7weeks ago a 10mo old cocker was found in the parking garage of the oceanfront resort where I work.  I took him home (to my docile, beautifully trained 14yr neutered male). I exhausted all ownership possibilities and now he's mine.  Because he twice attacked my dog and I had no intention of breeding him, I had him neutered...they were also able to restore his hearing by treating a long-standing ear infection that had left him partially deaf.  Maybe I'm too old for a puppy or just spoiled by the excellent behavior of the other dog.  He play bites...all the time.  Shreds newspaper (but leaves shoes and purses alone..thank God).  I live at the ocean and have been able to set him free to run and he always returns when I call...until yesterday when he ran 2 miles north and then went swimming out in the ocean (it took binoculars and a golf cart to catch up to him).  He will pee on the floor without giving me any hint that he wants to go...not the submissive or aggressive thing...just pees.  My sister says how come you always have such great dogs...I have always had such great training success...dogs that never nip, chew, pee, poop, fight, bark excessively and very happy and stable.  Ike is trying very, very hard to get it right and the two dogs seem to be on an even playing field now...so he's staying...but I do need a few hints.

Answer
Well what you can do are a few things-you can take him to a leash free park where he can run off his energy, also try crating him when you are not home so he can't chew up things or pee everywere

It also wouldn't hurt to enroll him in obediance school-as that can help alot of problems
