compatability

We have a 6 yr old boarder collie mix & she is a great dog. We want to get her a companion - what gender & species would be suited best?  Also we have 3 small children, so would need a pet compatable with the kids also.

Hi Lorrie,

Thank you for writing to me about your border collie mix.  I would suggest a male dog about the same age that you get from either border collie resue or the local kill shelter.  I would go for a submissive oriented dog that would be goood with your children.
